Sustainable Development Goals: Are the Rich Countries Ready?
Policymakers in OECD countries typically view SDGs as a development policy issue requiring increased official development assistance. However, the SDGs demand fundamental policy changes within rich countries themselves. “If the MDGs were the telescope through which rich countries viewed the developing world, the SDGs are the mirror in which they see their own policies and performance reflected.” Every nation must now develop an economically and socially sustainable model.
