WINGS brings together organisations working to strengthen philanthropy and the ecosystems that support it. Membership includes philanthropy support organisations, networks and associations, community philanthropy organisations, research centres, funders, development partners and other institutions contributing to the field.

Membership categories
Regular Members
Organisations whose primary purpose is to support or strengthen philanthropy: networks, associations, community philanthropy organisations, capacity-building bodies, and research centres. We also welcome intermediary, joint, and community funds that play an ecosystem-building role at regional, national, or sub-national levels, contribute beyond their own direct territory or community, and can engage meaningfully in an international network.
Supporting Members
Organisations that engage with philanthropy but are not primarily focused on the support ecosystem: foundations, grantmakers, development partners, and adjacent institutions.
Enabling Members
Organisations and funders that directly support WINGS’ global programmes and mission.
All categories receive core member benefits. Category determines governance
participation, engagement pathways, and membership fees.
Membership fees
Annual membership dues vary by membership category and organisational circumstances.

- Citizen engagement organisations
- Consulting, advisory and M&E firms
- Donor-advised funds
- Funding, implementation and learning groups and collectives
- Fundraising and online giving platforms
- Giving movements
- Information and technology solution providers
- Intermediary, joint and community funds*
- Media, knowledge and data sharing platforms
- Geographic networks and associations
- Standards, certification, accreditation and benchmarking agencies
- Thematic networks and associations
* Intermediary, joint and community funds can decide if they would rather be classified as a supporting member, including membership in the Funders Working Group. We will review this on a case-by-case basis.
The recommended scale is based on the principle of solidarity and to allow our regular membership to be as affordable as possible for a wide variety of philanthropy support organisations, many of which operate with very limited flexible resources.

Decision
You’ll be notified of the outcome. If accepted, you’ll complete payment to activate your membership.

You’re in! Expect a welcome package, directory listing, working group access, and invitations to WINGS events and learning sessions.
