WINGS Working Groups bring members together around shared themes and regional priorities.
Groups are member-led, supported by WINGS staff, and meet regularly throughout the year. Members exchange knowledge, collaborate on initiatives, and contribute to shared areas of work across the network.
Working Groups are open to all WINGS members unless otherwise noted.
Cultures of Giving
Explores the diverse ways communities give, and how local traditions shape philanthropy. Members exchange practices, reflect on regional realities, and build more inclusive, locally grounded philanthropy support ecosystems together. Quarterly exchanges and expert-led discussions.
Enabling Environment
Focuses on the legal, regulatory, and policy conditions philanthropy needs to operate effectively. Members exchange knowledge, coordinate advocacy efforts, and develop practical tools and resources in response to growing restrictions on civil society. Quarterly meetings.
Funders Working Group
A dedicated space for funders investing in philanthropy support ecosystems locally, regionally, or globally. Members align strategies, develop shared narratives, and explore joint initiatives. Quarterly meetings plus at least one annual in-person convening. By invitation only.
Lift Up Philanthropy
Focused on strengthening and increasing investment in the organisations and ecosystems that philanthropy depends on. Members share learning, collaborate on advocacy efforts, and contribute to initiatives such as ecosystem mapping and the WINGS Ecosystem Builder Awards.
Researchers, Academics
& Data Enthusiasts (RADE)
A global community of researchers, data specialists, and practitioners working to strengthen knowledge and evidence on philanthropy. Members exchange research, methodologies, and data-driven insights across regions and contexts. Quarterly meetings and ongoing knowledge exchange.
WINGS’ Regional Working Groups connect members across regions to exchange knowledge, strengthen coordination across philanthropy organisations, and collaborate around shared priorities and challenges.
These groups create space for regional learning, peer connection, and collective action while helping ensure regional perspectives shape WINGS’ global work.
Regional Working Groups are open to all WINGS members based in or working in the region.
Africa
Connects members across the continent to strengthen regional philanthropy support ecosystems through learning, collaboration, and shared action. Activities include quarterly meetings, regional research and thought leadership, and interregional exchanges with LAC and Asia.
Asia–Pacific
Brings together members across the region to strengthen local capacities, support peer learning, and elevate regional perspectives within global philanthropy conversations. Activities include regular meetings, research validation, and partnership-building across a diverse and rapidly evolving landscape.
Latin America & Caribbean (LAC)
A regional platform connecting members across Latin America and the Caribbean to strengthen support ecosystems and enabling environments for philanthropy. The group supports collaboration around domestic philanthropy, cross-sector partnerships, advocacy, and regional learning on issues including civic space, climate change, and inequality. Quarterly meetings.
