The challenges society faces, from geopolitical shifts and global crises to inequity, climate change, and declining trust, do not operate in isolation. They are interconnected and often require coordinated responses that no single organisation can deliver alone.
Responding to these challenges requires more than incremental change. It requires philanthropy to continually rethink its role: working in partnership with others, centring communities and local leadership, aligning all of its resources behind its mission, and contributing to long-term systems change rather than only addressing immediate needs.
WINGS helps make that possible by connecting people, ideas, and experiences from across philanthropy; creating opportunities for the field to learn, collaborate, challenge assumptions, and shape new approaches to achieving lasting impact.
How we help philanthropy evolve
We help philanthropy transform. WINGS creates spaces for philanthropy to question assumptions, explore new approaches, and rethink how it works. Through initiatives such as the Philanthropy Transformation Initiative and Philanthropy for Climate, we help the field strengthen community agency, align resources with mission, invest in ecosystems, and respond more effectively to complex global challenges.
We enable collective problem-solving. Working groups and communities of practice bring organisations together to co-develop tools, shape shared priorities, and build collective positions on issues that require coordinated action across regions and organisations.
We convene the field. From WINGSForum to regional gatherings and peer-learning exchanges, WINGS brings philanthropy support organisations together to build relationships, coordinate responses, and act collectively.
We amplify learning and innovation. Insights, innovations, and emerging practices fro m across the network are shared widely, helping organisations learn from one another, adapt successful approaches, and accelerate change across the field.
