Southeast Asia, a region filled with potential, is at a pivotal juncture. While its thriving economies, unparalleled biodiversity, and vibrant population of over 670 million paint a promising picture, pressing challenges like climate change, social inequality, and rapid urbanisation demand immediate attention. Recognising this interplay of immense potential and pressing needs, AVPN, the largest network of social investors in Asia, is proud to present the first AVPN Southeast Asia Thought Leaders Forum.
The Forum will encourage open dialogue, rigourous debate, and in-depth discussion to untangle complex issues in the region, including net-zero transition and impact investing. Southeast Asia plays a key role in the global energy transition, as it is one of the largest growing economies projected to grow its energy demand by 44% and emissions by 60% in 2050. This Forum will highlight the unique challenges and opportunities that this region faces in achieving net zero. One of the challenges that the region faces is the significant investment gap towards issues like net zero transition. The potential for impact investing in Southeast Asia is particularly significant, but there is lack of awareness and education about impact investing.
Through this open dialogue, the Forum’s unique roundtable setup aims to untangle the complexities of these issues. We invite attendees to engage with experts and thought leaders in the region to create solutions and foster collaborations. Together, we work towards shaping the agenda for AVPN Southeast Asia Summit 2025 and AVPN Global Conference 2025.
