Exploratory Mapping of the Philanthropy Support Ecosystem in Mozambique
Over several months, the Aga Khan Foundation, la Caixa Foundation, JUNTOS! and WINGS, alongside a broad Steering Committee of national, regional, and international partners, collaborated to map and better understand Mozambique’s philanthropy support ecosystem. Conducted between July and October 2025 using WINGS’ 4Cs framework, this first-of-its-kind exploratory study examines how philanthropy in the country is structured, supported, and connected, while identifying key challenges and opportunities to strengthen domestic giving. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to building a more coordinated, resilient ecosystem capable of mobilising sustainable resources for civil society and driving collective action forward.
